Thanksgiving Activities with the Kids

Make your very own dinner place holders

There's still plenty of time to prepare for the big feast.  These are really easy and quick to put together, and will make any visiting friends or family smile when they sit down to eat.

What you need:
  • White cardboard / construction paper
  • Leaf shaped foam stamps
  • Decorative leaf stickers
  • A black marker pen
  • Scissors or paper cutter
  • Colorful paints

What you do:

  • Cut a piece of card in half so that you end up with 2 pieces (these should be roughly 5 inches high and 7 inches high).
  • Fold both pieces in half again to create place holders
  • Use a black magic marker pen to write guests names on the place holders
  • Decorate around the names with painted foam stamps or stickers

You can paint the card with different colors and be imaginative as possible.  Why not ask your host children to paint the colors which they think represent thanksgiving and the winter weather - it will be really interesting to see what they come up with!
